Sections 155 & 156 Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009
Notice is hereby given that pursuant to the above Regulation, North Eastern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority intends to apply to the Minister for the Department for Environment Food and Rural affairs for confirmation of the following Byelaws:
BYELAW XXVI ‘Flamborough Head Fishing Byelaw’
This proposed byelaw sets provisions for the continuing management of demersal trawling activities within the Flamborough Head European Marine Site to protect chalk reef habitat and associated sub-features. The provisions include the specification of a prohibited trawling area, a special permitting scheme and a fishery closure clause.
BYELAW XXIX ‘Humber Estuary Fishing Byelaw’
This proposed byelaw sets out provisions for the prohibition of certain fisheries activities within a specified area of the Humber Estuary European Marine Site to protect seagrass habitats. The listed activities include digging and fishing with trawls, fixed nets, pots, dredges or similar devices.
