North Eastern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority was established on 1st April 2011, under provisions contained within the 2009 Marine and Coastal Access Act, to mange and conserve sea fisheries resources between the River Tyne and the North East Lincolnshire coast and seaward to the six-mile limit.
The Authority has identified a need for the following positions to support its developing marine environmental, scientific and research functions:
Assistant Conservation & Scientific Officer – Scp 22 £19621 + payment of time and a half outside core hours of 6.00 am to 6.00 pm.
This is a permanent position.
Temporary Assistant Conservation & Scientific Officer – Scp 22 £19621 + payment of time and a half outside core hours of 6.00 am to 6.00 pm.
This is a temporary contract offered initially for a fixed period of twelve months.
Both positions are based in the Authority’s offices in Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire. Working within the Authority’s environmental team, primary duties will include supporting the delivery of the Authority’s main statutory environmental duties, scientific research and other initiatives undertaken by NEIFCA.
You should possess a degree in marine, fisheries, or environmental sciences with practical field work experience. A post graduate qualification would be advantageous.
Hours: 37 per week, based in Bridlington, East Yorkshire. Local Government and North Eastern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority terms of appointment and conditions of service apply.
